Grayson County leaders gave a nod of approval to a new roadway project that will connect the area to the future extension of the Dallas North Tollway.
Control tower operators and first responders at North Texas Regional Airport may soon receive additional training following an incident at the airport last month. The incident, which was resolved safely with no issues, revealed breaks in procedures regarding communication during an emergency and a need to update tower equipment.Airport officials said the incident occurred when an airplane reported an emergency while approaching the airport in August.
North Texas Regional Airport – Perrin Field may soon have a new terminal to welcome visitors and aviators to Grayson County. Rise Aviation is expected to finance a new 11,000-square-foot facility at the site.The Grayson County Regional Mobility Authority board voted to enter into a professional services agreement that will set the stage for the potential development of a new terminal building.”This is a clean-cut deal for the county,” GCRMA Board Chair Robert Brady said.

The second phase of the Sherman Municipal Airport master plan, which is expected to cost about $75,000, is expected to look at how to develop the airport into a thriving destination for future aviators.The Sherman City Council is expected to consider a second phase of the plan for the Sherman Municipal Airport that will look at possible projects when it meets next week.The plan will be presented by consulting firm Corgan, who completed the first phase of the project earlier this year.
Tax Assessor Collector Bruce Stidham said the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles wants Grayson County to keep registering vehicles like it has done in the past.
Grayson County commissioners unanimously gave their preliminary approval Tuesday to a tax rate that is expected to save Grayson County homeowners with $100,000 homes about $23.94 in county taxes.The preliminary vote was just a way for county commissioners to give their final go ahead to the county auditor to file the needed paper work for the commissioners to be able to hold public hearings on the rate and schedule public votes on it.That new rate is .416429 per $100 valuation.”I think

It could cost about $400,000 to connect North Texas Regional Airport – Perrin Field to radar services near the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, county and airport officials estimate.
For the first time in recent history, North Texas Regional Airport – Perrin Field is projected to be in the black without assistance from Grayson County.
The new machines will print out a paper ballot that will be reviewed by the voter and placed in a scanner that will scan in the vote into that polling places’ tabulation.
